Wow, I’m actually home! The last two months have gone by incredibly fast! I don’t have much to say right now but I thought I should let everyone know I was home and safe if you didn’t hear already.
It is very odd to be back home. Talk about culture shock! I am still very much in a haze and don’t know what to do with myself here. I hardly recognize things. I feel very lost. Everything I had become accustomed to in Africa is gone. It is all different. But one thing is not: God’s faithfulness. He is the only constant; Everything else is a variable. So while I do not understand everything going on around me and do not feel very comfortable, I must hold on to the One that never changes.

Your reaction is very similar to that of others I know who have served in a different country. It is normal, to be expected, but still very much a challenge to you. Gradually, you will become reacquainted with routines here again and will feel more normal. But those lessons and experiences from Africa have surely become part of your very heart and soul, and you are a different person than when you left. God will use everything for his purpose as you continue to trust and follow him.
I echo what your gramma said.
And I add, how very, very lovely it is for your friends in Africa, and your fellow teammates, that you have Africa in your heart and mind and consciousness-and have such a great opportunity to teach the rest of us, the face of God and the action of God through His creation in S. Africa.
What a gift you are to the rest of us, Dallas Nord!
